Getting to Tal Varahi Temple

The Tal Varahi Temple, also known as the Lake Temple, is a significant Hindu temple located on a small island in the Phewa Lake, Pokhara. Here are the directions to reach Tal Varahi Temple:

By Air:

• Step 1: Take a flight to Pokhara International Airport (PKR), which is well-connected with Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and some international destinations.
• Step 2: After arriving at Pokhara Airport, hire a taxi or take a local bus to the Phewa Lake lakeside area. The drive should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

By Road:

• Step 1: Long-distance tourist buses or microbuses are available from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The journey may take about 6 to 7 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
• Step 2: Upon reaching the Pokhara bus station, take a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw to the lakeside (approximately 15 minutes).

By Boat:

• Once you are at the lakeside of Phewa Lake, you can easily rent a rowboat, paddle boat, or a canoe to reach the island with the Tal Varahi Temple.
• The boat ride takes about 5 to 10 minutes from the lakeside. You can either hire a boatman or paddle by yourself if you have experience.

Operating Hours & Entrance Fee:

Before planning your visit, note that Tal Varahi Temple is usually open from early morning to evening. There is no entrance fee to visit the temple; however, boat rental services at the lakeside have separate charges.
