Good collection and Naval History
The Museum has good collection. Vizag history and Marine history is interesting. Must go for people of all ages. Must for visit while at Vizag.

The Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Museum is known as the "Visakha Museum". An old Dutch bungalow turned into a museum was opened to the public in 1991. Located in front of the famous RK Puram beach of Visakhapatnam, this museum has preserved the combined heritage of Andhra and Kalinga. Though there is a lot to see here in the museum, apart from the weapons, paintings, manuscripts, coins, dress, jewellery, pots used by the former rulers of this region, but some things are displayed in the museum which you will be thrilled to see. The shell of the bomb that was dropped upon Visakhapatnam by Japan during World War II is still kept here. Models of Kalvari class, Sindhughosh class and other class submarines are also displayed in the museum. Models of naval combat airplanes and warships are also displayed in the museum. The vessel named SS Jal Usha which was built in Visakhapatnam was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1948, by breaking coconut, that coconut is still stored here. The largest tricolor of India is also kept in the museum. This museum gives you very interesting information about the history and culture of the Navy and Kalinga-Andhra region.

Visakha museum is a port city museum housing treasures from ancient history and artefacts of the Kalingadhara region. The museum was opened to the public in 1991 and since then, has been a popular tourist spot of Vizag. Visakha Museum, also called Corporation Museum. The Visakha Museum is located at an old Dutch Bungalow on the RK Beach Road. Ancient armoury, coins, silk costumes, jewellery, stuffed animals, diaries, periodicals, maps, and scrapbooks are all parts of some of the most famous exhibits of this museum. Maritime museum is nice
The front section which is the maritime museum has a rich collection of naval artifacts, including an unexploded Japanese WWII bomb and piece of the PNS Ghazi submarine that sank off the coast of Vizag during the Bangladesh War. Naval history going back millennia is explained. The second section at the back (another building) is sparsely populated with very old paintings and not very interesting.

An Informative Navy Museum
It showcases ancient armory, coins, silk costumes, jewellery, portraits, letters, diaries, scrapbooks, periodicals,.which were used by the settlers in the area. A maritime museum is also located here which depicts the glorious history of Navy where models of planes, submarines are present.
