The Bhimbetka rock shelters, located in the foothills of the Vindhya Mountains in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh, India, is a significant archaeological site that dates back to the Paleolithic era. Bhimbetka was accidentally discovered in 1957 by Indian archaeologist Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar when he was on a train journey to Bhopal.
