Adinath Temple, often referred to as Adishwar Temple or Chaumukha, is a revered Jain temple located atop Shatrunjaya Hill in Palitana, Gujarat, India. It is dedicated to the first Tirthankara, Adinath (Rishabhanatha), and is the most important temple among the Palitana temples, which are considered the holiest pilgrimage site by the Jain community. The temple complex is an architectural marvel with intricate carvings, ornate pillars, and beautiful idols. Pilgrims and visitors have to climb approximately 3,500 steps to reach the temple, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The climb is considered an act of devotion, with many devotees performing it with great fervor. Aside from its religious significance, the Adinath Temple is admired for its tranquil atmosphere and the sense of peace it provides. Embarking on a pilgrimage here is believed to lead to salvation, and the temple teems with pilgrims during the festival seasons when the Jain community celebrates significant religious events.
