Best Time to Visit Bet Dwarka (Shankhodhar Island)

The ideal time to visit Bet Dwarka, also known as Shankhodhar Island, is during the cooler months of October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasantly warm and conducive to exploring the religious sites and beaches of the island. The temperatures usually range between 20°C and 28°C, making it perfect for sightseeing and participating in outdoor activities. While the summers in Dwarka can be quite hot with temperatures soaring up to 42°C, winter offers a respite from the heat with a more comfortable climate.

In addition to the favorable weather, this period is also significant due to various Hindu festivals that are celebrated with great fervor in Dwarka. Two notable occasions are Krishna Janmashtami, which typically falls in late August or early September, and the Dwarkadhish Temple festival in the month of November, which attracts a multitude of devotees. Although these festivals might occur slightly outside the recommended window for the best weather, they are exceptional times to experience the rich cultural and religious heritage of Bet Dwarka.
