Makku Math Tourism

Makku Math is a hidden gem located in the Chopta region, known for its serene and spiritual environment amidst the lush greenery and the snow-clad Himalayan ranges in Uttarakhand, India. This secluded spot is often overshadowed by the popular Tungnath Temple and Deoria Tal, yet it holds significant religious importance and offers a tranquil escape for visitors. Makku Math is believed to be the winter abode of the deity of Tungnath, as the idol is brought down to this place during the harsh winters when Tungnath Temple becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The math is surrounded by dense forests and charming meadows, which bloom with a variety of flowers in the spring and summer. It is a perfect retreat for spirituality seekers as well as nature lovers who look for peaceful trails and the opportunity to witness the local culture and traditions.
