Type of destination: Beach
Ideal visit duration: Half a day to Full day
Colva Beach, situated in South Goa, is a picturesque stretch of white sand flanked by coconut palms that extend from Bogmalo to Cabo de Rama along the Arabian Sea. Being one of the longest beaches in the world, it spans around 2.4 kilometres and is a famed destination for tourists seeking solace and natural beauty. Known for its scenic sunsets and vibrant beach shacks, Colva Beach offers a mix of entertainment and leisure activities. Traditionally, it was a resting area for Margao’s high society during the colonial era, which has now transformed into a buzzing tourist hub while retaining its serene charm. Beach-goers can indulge in water sports like jet-skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides, or simply relax on the sandy shore. The local cuisine, available at the numerous shacks and restaurants lining the beach, offers a taste of Goan delicacies alongside international fares. Additionally, Colva is famous for the 'Fama of Menino Jesus' at the local church, celebrated annually on the third Monday of October.
