Our Lady of Merces Church Tourism

Our Lady of Merces Church, also referred to as Colva Church, is located in the coastal village of Colva in South Goa, India. This historic church is renowned for its religious significance and architectural splendor, drawing not only pilgrims but also tourists from around the world. It was established by the Portuguese in 1630 and is dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy. The church stands out with its pristine white facade and is a remarkable example of Baroque architecture. Inside, the altar is intricately decorated, and the church interior brings a sense of peace and divinity. The church is especially known for its annual event, Fama of Menino Jesus, which takes place in October, attracting a large number of devotees. On this occasion, the statue of Menino Jesus (Child Jesus) is brought out for public veneration.
