The Menezes Braganza House, located in the picturesque town of Chandor in South Goa, is a well-preserved colonial mansion that stands as a testament to Goa's rich historical and cultural heritage. This grand old Portuguese mansion, dating back to the 17th century, was owned by the Braganza family and reflects the grandeur of its time with its elegant furnishings, ornate interiors, and antique artifacts. The mansion spans over 10,000 square meters and consists of several wings, each showcasing a distinct style of architecture and decor. Notable features include the opulent ballroom with its Belgian crystal chandeliers, the intricately carved furniture, and the invaluable collection of family portraits, antique china, and old books. The west wing of the house, known as the Palacio do Deao, is open to the public and offers a glimpse of Goan life during the Portuguese era, with its blend of Indian and Western influences evident in every corner.
