Shri Damodar Temple is a revered Hindu temple situated in Zambaulim, a village in the South Goa district of Goa, India, on the banks of the Kushavati River. It is dedicated to Lord Damodar, an incarnation of Lord Shiva according to the local belief. The temple complex holds significant religious value and is noted for its unique blend of Goan architecture and traditional Hindu temple art. The original temple was located in Margao but was destroyed during the Portuguese invasion and consequently, the deity was shifted to its current location. It has a serene and spiritual ambiance, attracting pilgrims and travelers alike. The annual festival of 'Gulal', which takes place in the month of Phalguna as per the Hindu calendar, is a prominent celebration here. Devotees gather to play with colors and honor the deity, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
