Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the eastern part of South Goa in Goa, India, and is known for its dense forests, wide array of biodiversity, and natural beauty. Spanning over an area of 211 square kilometers, it forms part of the Western Ghats, which is one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. Established in 1999, this sanctuary encompasses the moist deciduous forest and semi-evergreen forest, providing a habitat for a diverse range of flora and fauna, including several rare and endangered species. Streams and waterfalls abound, with the main attraction being the Savari waterfall. It serves as an important source of water for the wildlife within and is a popular spot for trekkers and nature lovers. The sanctuary is also known for its unique geological formations and the phenomenon of 'bubble lake' or ‘budbudyanche tollem’ where the lakebed sees continuous bubbles emerging due to methane gas. Netravali Sanctuary is home to animals such as the black panther, giant squirrel, slender loris, and a large variety of birds, butterflies, and reptiles.
