What is Gangtok known for?

Gangtok is the capital city of the Indian state of Sikkim and is known for its stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Khangchendzonga, which is India's highest peak and the world's third highest peak. The nearest airport to Gangtok is Pakyong Airport (PYG), around 35 km from the city, while the major airport is Bagdogra Airport (IXB) in West Bengal, which is approximately 125 km away. The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP) in West Bengal. From both the airport and the railway station, visitors can hire taxis or take buses to reach Gangtok.
