Best Time To Visit Garjiya Devi Temple (Jim Corbett) In 2026 - 2027
Best Time to Visit Garjiya Devi Temple, Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand, India
Garjiya Devi Temple is a sacred pilgrimage site located near the renowned Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, India. The most opportune time to plan a visit to this revered temple is from November to June. November marks the end of the monsoon season, so visitors can enjoy a cleaner and clearer environment with less humidity and a minimal chance of rain. The weather during these months is generally pleasant, with cooler temperatures that are ideal for exploration and worship. To witness the temple in its full fervor, plan to visit during the Kartik Purnima festival, which usually falls in November or December, when the temple celebrates its annual fair, attracting throngs of devotees.
On the other hand, from July to October, the Garjiya Devi Temple is less accessible due to the monsoon season, which can bring heavy rains, leading to increased river levels and potential flooding. This makes it risky for visits, as the temple is situated atop a rock in the Kosi River. Furthermore, the humidity and heat during the earlier part of this season can be uncomfortable for travelers not accustomed to India's tropical climates. Therefore, for safety reasons and a more comfortable visit, it is recommended to avoid the monsoon months and instead plan a trip when the weather is more conducive to outdoor activities in the surrounding Jim Corbett National Park and the beautiful temple region.
