Jaigarh Fort is perched on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravalli range; it overlooks the Amber Fort and the Maota Lake, near Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. The fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its palace complex and was named after him. The structure of the fort is similar to that of the Amber Fort, and it offers a magnificent view of Jaipur city. The fort's major attractions include the world's largest cannon on wheels, the 'Jaivana Cannon', and the intricate network of water channels that once formed a part of the rainwater harvesting system. The fort is a classic example of medieval Indian military architecture, complete with thick walls, a central watchtower, and robust bastions. Its remarkable preservation allows visitors to explore its architecture, with several buildings within its premises, including Laxmi Vilas, Lalit Mandir, Aram Mandir, and the Vilas Mandir.
