Best Time To Visit Lankaran (Azerbaijan) In 2026 - 2027

Discover the Ideal Season to Explore Lankaran, Azerbaijan

Nestled on Azerbaijan's verdant southeastern coast, Lankaran is renowned for its subtropical climate, thermal springs, and lush tea plantations. To fully appreciate this city's charm, the best time to visit is during late spring between April and June. During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm but not too hot, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). This period witnesses nature awakening, with the surrounding Talysh Mountains and nearby Hirkan National Park becoming vibrant with flora and fauna. It's an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities such as hiking, bird watching, and exploring the historical and cultural sites Lankaran has to offer.

Alternatively, visiting in the early fall, particularly in September and October, offers an equally delightful experience. The sweltering summer heat subsides, giving way to milder temperatures and less humidity, ranging from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). This period still provides ample warmth for beachgoers to enjoy the Caspian Sea coastline. Additionally, it's a fantastic season for food enthusiasts as the city's harvest brings about a bounty of fresh produce, including the famous local tea, citrus fruits, and vegetables, all contributing to a rich gastronomic experience. However, travelers should be mindful that winter months from November to March are best avoided as the city experiences colder temperatures and higher precipitation, which can limit outdoor activities.
