Best Time To Visit Maya Devi Temple (Haridwar) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Maya Devi Temple, Haridwar

When planning a visit to the sacred city of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, India, timing is essential to make your experience both spiritually fulfilling and comfortable. The Maya Devi Temple, one of the Shakti Peethas in India, is revered by devotees, and the best time to visit this holy shrine is typically between October and April. These months mark the post-monsoon and winter seasons in North India, which offer a pleasant climate with cooler temperatures that range from 10°C to 30°C. The summers in Haridwar, from May to September, can be extremely hot and the monsoon season might lead to heavy rains, making it difficult for temple visits and ritual dips in the Ganges. Winters are generally mild here; hence, the calm weather will allow you to immerse in the spiritual ambiance of the Maya Devi Temple without any discomfort.

Moreover, if you wish to experience Haridwar's cultural vibrancy at its peak, consider aligning your visit with the festival of Kumbh Mela, which takes place every 12 years, with the next one due in 2022. The smaller yet significant Ardh Kumbh Mela occurs every 6 years. Apart from these hallowed events, other auspicious occasions like Maha Shivaratri, Navratri, and Diwali also draw innumerable pilgrims to the Maya Devi Temple. Be mindful of the crowded periods as the temple might be exceptionally crowded during these festivals, yet they offer a unique and vibrant spiritual experience. For a more serene visit where you can engage with the temple's serene environment and participate in the daily rituals at your own pace, opt for the quieter months outside of these major festivals.
