Mindrolling Monastery, located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, is one of the largest Buddhist centers in India, established in 1965. The Monastery is not only a sacred place for Buddhists but also attracts tourists for its magnificent architecture, lush gardens, and a 60 meters high stupa, which is amongst the world’s tallest stupas. The Ngagyur Nyingma College, one of the largest Buddhist Institutes in India, is a part of the Mindrolling Monastery. Traditional Tibetan art including murals and paintings adorn the walls of the monastery, showcasing the rich cultural heritage. The Great Stupa, inaugurated in 2002, serves as a memorial to the re-founder of the Monastery, Khochhen Rinpoche, and is filled with various relics, and rooms for meditation and prayer. The monastery complex includes various temples, a Tibetan market, and a well-maintained park, providing a serene and tranquil environment.

Mind clamming- Mindrolling monastery
Very calm and quiet place, well maintained, you could relax or meditate. Worth spending some time relaxed whether you believe Buddhism or not.

Good one time visit
Given it was Buddha Purnima, visited Mindrolling Monastery (10am-5pm), one of the largest Buddhist centers in India. We also bought a wind chime from here. Local cafes here serve good Tibetan food out..
