Moti Mahal, also known as the Pearl Palace, is situated inside the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. This magnificent palace is one of the oldest structures within the Mehrangarh Fort and a classic example of Rajput architectural splendor. Built by Maharaja Sur Singh between 1594 and 1619 AD, the palace gets its name from its resplendent pearl-like appearance. The structure features intricately carved stone screens, ornate stained glass windows, mirrors, and polished lime plaster walls. Moti Mahal was the main hall where the Maharaja used to hold his court. It houses the royal throne of Jodhpur, called the Sringar Chowki. The impressive ceiling is adorned with mirror work and gold leaf, while the walls are still lined with the portraits of Jodhpur's former rulers. The palace, positioned high above the cityscape, offers breathtaking views of the Blue City and serves as a reminder of the city's glorious past. It's a testament to the ingenuity and artistry of the craftsmen of its time.
