The Ranisar Padamsar Lakes, situated in the historic city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, consists of two adjoining lakes, Ranisar and Padamsar. Queen Jasmade Hadi, Rao Jodha's wife, commissioned Ranisar Lake in 1459, while Padamsar was built by Queen Padmini, the daughter of Rao Ganga, in 1520. These artificial lakes were primarily created to conserve water in the arid region of Marwar. Located near Fateh Pol near Mehrangarh Fort, these water bodies have since become an integral part of Jodhpur's history and are surrounded by rugged and scenic landscapes typical of the arid zones of Rajasthan. They showcase the ancient water management systems of Rajputs. Despite the aridity, the area around the lakes flourishes with acacia and prosopis forests, which provide a serene and green oasis in the city. The lakes are ringed by beautiful stepwells and centuries-old temples, embodying the essence of Rajasthani architectural heritage.

Near Mehrangarh Fort
Both lakes contain small amount of water which i dont think is used for drinking purpose. I was able to locate both the lakes during my visit to Mehrangarh Fort.
