Neora Valley National Park, located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India, is one of the last remaining pristine ecosystems of the eastern Himalayas. The park was established in 1986 and stretches over an area of 88 square kilometers. It is characterized by its dense forests, which are home to a vast diversity of flora and fauna. It is particularly renowned for its population of Red Pandas, which are an endangered species. The terrain is rugged and steep, with lush bamboo and rhododendron forests adding to the park's scenic beauty. Altitudes range from 1,600 to 3,200 meters, resulting in a diversity of ecosystems from tropical to temperate to alpine. Birding enthusiasts frequent Neora Valley to observe rare species in their natural habitat.
