Rollapadu Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India, spans an area of 614 square kilometers and is known for its unique grassland ecosystem. Established in 1988, this sanctuary was created to protect the Great Indian Bustard and Lesser Florican, which are among the rarest bird species in the world. The terrain of Rollapadu is characterized by vast expanses of flat land and open grasslands interspersed with small patches of thorn scrub and dry farming fields. This environment supports a variety of fauna besides the endemic and migrating birds. Several species of mammals like the Indian Wolf, Blackbuck, and Jackal as well as reptiles like the Indian Cobra and Russell's viper are also protected here. The sanctuary also has a man-made water reservoir that attracts birds, especially during the post-monsoon and winter months, making it a fantastic spot for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The place also houses an Environmental Education Centre with exhibits to educate visitors about biodiversity conservation.

Good place for photographing Harriers

Only hotspring good

The hotspring was good but the animals here were of various species and fierce in character. I was accompanied by a view guards of the sanctuary.
