Best Time To Visit Srinagar (Kashmir) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Srinagar, Kashmir

The ideal time to visit Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is during the spring and early summer months from April to June. This season is characterized by a vibrant display of blooming flowers in the Mughal gardens, almond blossoms in Badamwari, and a temperate climate that is conducive to exploring the city's attractions comfortably. The temperature during these months ranges from a pleasant 10°C (50°F) to a maximum of 30°C (86°F), avoiding the chill of winter and the subsequent monsoon season. The famous tulip festival, usually held in April, transforms the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden into a colorful palette of flowers, drawing tourists from all over the world.

However, for those interested in experiencing a cooler climate and enjoying Srinagar's picturesque snowfall, the winter months from December to February are also attractive. The city transforms into a winter wonderland, offering a completely different set of activities like skiing, snowboarding, and the chance to experience the frozen Dal Lake. Keep in mind that temperatures can drop below freezing, reaching as low as -2°C (28°F), so this period demands heavy woolens and thermal wear for a comfortable trip. Nevertheless, winter in Srinagar provides a breathtaking snow-covered landscape, contrasting the bustling, lush summer period.
