Best Time To Visit Submarine Museum (INS Kursura) (Visakhapatnam (Vizag)) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit INS Kursura Submarine Museum, Visakhapatnam

The ideal time to visit the INS Kursura Submarine Museum in Visakhapatnam is during the winter months, from October to March. During this period, the weather in Vizag is most pleasant, with the temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C, which is perfect for exploring outdoor attractions like the submarine museum. The humidity is at its lowest, ensuring a comfortable visit. The cool sea breeze from the Bay of Bengal also makes the experience of walking around the Submarine on the beachside highly enjoyable. The museum generally opens at 2:00 PM and closes at 9:00 PM, but timings may vary, so it's advisable to check before planning your visit.

Visiting during the cooler part of the year will allow you to make the most of the interactive and educational tours offered at the museum without being hindered by the heat and humidity that can be quite oppressive in the summer months. Additionally, if you are traveling to Vizag during the winter, you might also get the chance to participate in or witness local festivals and events. However, it’s important to avoid visiting the museum on Mondays as it is typically closed for maintenance. Weekends and public holidays may be crowded, so if you are looking for a more peaceful visit, consider going on a weekday.
