Best Time to Visit Vaishno Devi Temple, Haridwar

The Vaishno Devi Temple in Haridwar, located in the state of Uttarakhand, India, is a revered pilgrimage center, drawing devotees from across the country. The best time to visit the temple is from October to March when the weather in Haridwar is at its most pleasant. During these months, the temperatures range from 10°C to 30°C, making it ideal for temple visits and participating in spiritual activities such as the famous Ganga Aarti. The climate is cool and conducive for pilgrims to climb the hillock where the temple is situated without the discomfort of the scorching heat experienced during the summer months.

Furthermore, visiting during the festival of Navratri, which is celebrated twice a year, once in March-April (Chaitra Navratri) and again in September-October (Sharad Navratri), can be especially auspicious. During Navratri, the temple witnesses heavy footfall as these periods are considered highly sacred for worshipping the Goddess Vaishno Devi. The temple is adorned beautifully, and there is a palpable sense of devotion in the air. However, one should be prepared for larger crowds during these festivals. For a quieter experience, choose the winter months of November to February, but be sure to carry warm clothing, as the temperatures can dip quite low, especially during the night.
