Angar Pir Shrine is a revered Muslim shrine located in the vicinity of the Jain temples of Palitana, a pilgrimage city in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, India. The best time to visit the shrine is during the cooler months of October to March when the weather in Palitana is pleasant with mild temperatures. During this period, the climate is ideal for climbing to the shrine and exploring the nearby Jain temples. The temperatures range from a comfortable 10°C to 30°C, making it easier for pilgrims and tourists to undertake the arduous climb up Shatrunjaya Hill, where the shrine is situated.
Visiting during these months also coincides with the vibrant festivals that take place in Gujarat. The festival of Navratri in October and the kite festival of Makar Sankranti in January are celebrated with much fanfare. However, it's important to avoid visiting during the monsoon season from June to September due to heavy rainfall, which can make the trek up the hill to the shrine difficult and slippery. Additionally, avoid the peak summer months of April to June, as temperatures can soar up to 42°C, leading to an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous climb.
