Best Time To Visit Darjeeling Ropeway (Darjeeling) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Darjeeling Ropeway

The best time to visit the Darjeeling Ropeway, also known as the Rangeet Valley Passenger Cable Car, is between October and March. During these months, the weather in Darjeeling is ideal for enjoying the magnificent views without the interference of the monsoon rains or the extreme cold of the winter. The skies tend to be clearer, offering visitors uninterrupted panoramas of the surrounding mountains, tea gardens, and the majestic Kanchenjunga range. The temperature during this period hovers around a comfortable range of 10°C to 20°C, making it suitable for tourists to spend time outdoors and experience the ropeway without any discomfort.

It's worth noting that another favorable time for a ropeway visit in Darjeeling is in the spring months of April to June. During the spring, the hill station is full of blooming flowers and lush green tea gardens, creating a breathtaking setting for aerial views from the cable cars. However, these months can be a bit crowded due to the peak tourist season. Regardless of when you go, it's advisable to start your ride in the morning when the chances of a clear sky are higher, providing a better opportunity to capture the grandeur of the Himalayas. While the Darjeeling Ropeway operates throughout the year, visitors should always check for operational status and weather conditions in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
