Best Time To Visit Dehradun Zoo (Dehradun) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Dehradun Zoo

Dehradun Zoo, also known as Malsi Deer Park, is a beautifully maintained zoological garden nestled in the foothills of the Shivalik range in Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand, India. The zoo is renowned for its serene environment and a variety of wildlife, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and family outings. The best time to visit Dehradun Zoo is between late September to June, when the climate is mostly pleasant. This period avoids the heavy monsoons that Dehradun experiences from July to August, which can make the trip less enjoyable due to wet conditions and potential disruptions in outdoor activities.

Visitors especially favor the cooler months from November to February, when the chilly weather adds a refreshing touch to the wildlife experience. However, it's crucial to note that the temperatures can drop significantly, so warm clothing is recommended. During the spring months from March to April, the zoo turns exceptionally vibrant with blooming flowers and lush greenery, offering a mesmerizing ambiance. Be sure to check the zoo timings before planning your visit, as they may vary seasonally. Moreover, visiting on weekdays can help you avoid the weekend crowds for a more tranquil experience.
