Fort of Pavagadh Tourism

The Pavagadh Fort is a fortress that stands atop the Pavagadh Hill in the Panchmahal district near Champaner, Gujarat, India. It was once the capital of the powerful Hindu kingdom of Champaner, before it was conquered by Sultan Mahmud Begada in 1484. Today, the fort and the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park are a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for their historical, cultural, and architectural significance. The fort complex comprises numerous ruins including fortifications, palaces, water installations, and other structures. The Kalika Mata Temple, situated at the summit of the hill, is one of the oldest temples in the area and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. Visitors can reach the fort by foot or by cable car. The site represents a perfect blend of Hindu-Muslim architecture and is a testament to the rich history of the region.
