Sat Kaman, also known as 'Seven Arches', is a prominent historical landmark located at Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park in Gujarat, India. It is a remarkable example of 15th-century Islamic architecture, under the Sultanate rule. The term 'Sat Kaman' refers to the seven arches that once stood here, although currently, only five remain. These arches were part of the military fortifications and were ingeniously designed to support cannons. The arches are built on the edge of the Pavagadh Hill and are aligned such that they offer a wide and strategic view of the surrounding plains. They stand as testimony to the engineering skill and military acumen of the Sultanate era. Champaner-Pavagadh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its cultural and historical significance, blending Hindu and Islamic architectural styles.
