Girgaum Chowpatty Beach, commonly known as just Chowpatty, is one of Mumbai’s most famous beaches, situated at the northern end of Marine Drive in the Girgaum area. The beach comes alive in the evenings when people come to relax after a long day, munch on local street food, and enjoy the stunning sunset views over the Arabian Sea. Chowpatty also holds cultural significance, being the venue for many festivals including the immersion of Ganesh idols during Ganesh Chaturthi. The beachfront is lined with stalls selling an array of snacks like bhelpuri, pav bhaji, and ice-cream; the aroma of which fills the air.
