Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a unique preserve given its proximity to a bustling metropolitan city. Encompassing an area of over 104 sq. km, SGNP is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including the elusive leopards. It offers a serene escape with its lush greenery, undulating hills, and sizable clean lakes. The park features the 2,400-year-old Kanheri Caves, hewn out of rocky cliffs, which stand as a testament to the region's ancient Buddhist influence. Other attractions include the Tiger & Lion Safari, where visitors can spot the big cats from the safety of enclosed vehicles. The park also hosts a toy train, boating activities in the artificial lake, and multiple walking and trekking trails leading to picturesque points.
