Best Time To Visit Haldighati (Kumbhalgarh) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Haldighati

Haldighati, a historic pass in the Aravalli Range connecting the districts of Rajsamand and Pali, is most well-known for the famous Battle of Haldighati that took place in 1576 between the Mughal Empire and Maharana Pratap of Mewar. The ideal time to visit Haldighati is during the cooler months, from October to February. During this period, the weather is pleasant with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C which makes exploring the hilly terrain and the beautiful landscapes comfortable. Tourists can enjoy the famous rose products of the region and witness the charm of the marble cenotaph (Chhatri) dedicated to the loyal horse of Maharana Pratap, Chetak.

Additionally, visiting during this time can also be culturally enriching as you might get an opportunity to witness local fairs and festivals, such as the Haldighati festival, which celebrates the bravery of Maharana Pratap. However, if you want to make the most of your visit with fewer crowds, aim for the months of November and February as these are relatively less popular times for tourists and thus offer a more tranquil experience. Regardless of the time of your visit, ensure you carry comfortable footwear for traversing the rugged landscape and woolens to keep warm during the chilly evenings.

Best Time to Visit Kumbhalgarh

Kumbhalgarh, known for its majestic Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is nestled in the Aravalli Range. Like Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh also welcomes visitors with the most hospitable weather from October to March, when the climate is cool, enabling picturesque treks, fort exploration, and sightseeing in comfort. During this time, the temperature ranges between 12°C and 32°C making it ideal for any outdoor activities. Additionally, winters are perfect for witnessing the incredible sound and light show at Kumbhalgarh Fort which recounts the fort's grand history.

From July to September, the region experiences monsoon, bringing lush greenery and freshness to the fort and surrounding forests. While the scenery is absolutely breathtaking during the monsoon, the frequent rains may hinder outdoor activities. For those interested in photography or nature walks, the monsoon season provides a vibrant and refreshing canvas of the landscape. Nevertheless, for the optimal experience, winter months are the finest time to soak in the historical magnificence of Kumbhalgarh without the interruption of rain or the harshness of the sun.
