The Japanese Temple, also known as the Peace Pagoda, in Darjeeling is one of the serene spots attracting numerous visitors each year. The ideal time to visit Darjeeling and the Japanese Temple is between the months of April and June. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool with clear skies offering an excellent view of the Himalayan peaks. Darjeeling's spring season is vibrant with blooming rhododendrons and magnolias, which enhance the beauty of this tranquil location. Additionally, the temperatures usually range from 10°C to 20°C, making it perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
However, another favorable time for a visit is during the months of September to November. This period constitutes the post-monsoon season when the freshly washed surroundings appear even more lush and green, and the visibility is again superb for those picturesque mountain views. Note that is it less crowded compared to the spring season which may be preferable for some travellers. While winters, from December to February, offer a unique experience with the possibility of snow, the temperatures drop significantly (around 2°C to 9°C) and may not be suitable for all tourists. The monsoon season, from July to August, is typically avoided due to heavy rainfall, which can result in landslides and disruption of travel plans.
