In the serene hills of Mount Abu, the food culture has been deeply influenced by the Marwari and Gujarati cuisine due to its geographical proximity to Gujarat and being part of Rajasthan. The local cuisine is predominantly vegetarian, owing to the Jain community's influence, which has a significant presence in the region. The food is characterized by its rich flavors, with the use of various spices, ghee (clarified butter), and herbs in abundance. Historically, traditional methods like slow cooking on low flame have been employed to retain the nutrition and taste of the food. Due to the cooler climate, compared to the rest of Rajasthan, dairy products are also extensively used in cooking.
