Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in South Goa and is renowned for its rich biodiversity and natural beauty. The best time to visit the sanctuary is during the cooler and dryer months of October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool and is conducive to wildlife spotting, as well as outdoor activities like trekking and bird watching. The temperature typically ranges from 20°C to 30°C, making it ideal for exploring the dense forests comfortably. Additionally, since it's after the monsoon season, the chances of encountering insects and leeches are significantly reduced.
Visitors might want to avoid the monsoon season from June to September due to heavy rains that can limit accessibility and movement within the sanctuary. However, post-monsoon, the sanctuary flourishes with greenery and the water bodies within the reserve are replenished, offering a breathtaking experience of nature in its full glory. If one chooses to visit during the monsoon, they should be prepared for a very wet experience and are advised to carry appropriate rain gear. However, wildlife sightings might be less frequent due to the dense foliage and the animals taking cover from the rain.
