Parvati Hill is a hillock in Pune, Maharashtra, which rises to 2,100 feet above sea level. This scenic spot offers a panoramic view of the city and has a historical significance, being one of the oldest heritage structures in Pune. At the top, it houses the Parvati Devi Temple, which is the main temple on the hill, along with other temples dedicated to the Hindu deities Rama, Vishnu, Vinayaka, and Kartikeya. It is believed that the Peshwa rulers, who governed the city during the 18th century, built the temples as a dedication to the deities and used the place for their relaxation and worship. A unique feature of Parvati Hill is the 103 steps leading up to the hilltop, which are made from stone and provide a steep ascent. Apart from its religious significance, the hill is popular among tourists and locals for morning walks and provides a beautiful backdrop for photography enthusiasts. The hill is also a host to various cultural events and festivals, particularly those related to the Maratha and Peshwa history.
