Best Time To Visit Sari Village (Chopta) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Sari Village, Chopta, Uttarakhand, India

Nestled in the lofty Himalayas, Sari Village acts as the starting point for the trek to Deoria Tal and is a key gateway to the stunning meadows of Chopta, which is often referred to as the 'Mini Switzerland' of India. The optimal time to visit Sari Village is during the spring and summer months from March to June. During this period, the snow from the winter melts away to reveal lush green landscapes and a plethora of vibrant wildflowers. Temperatures are comfortable, ranging from 10°C to 30°C, offering perfect conditions for trekking and outdoor activities. You'll also enjoy clear skies, which are ideal for panoramic Himalayan views and camping by Deoria Tal.

While spring and summer present the perfect trekking climate, another favorable time for a visit is the post-monsoon season from September to November. During these months, the monsoon rains have embellished the valley with refreshing greenery and the air is crisp with minimal haze, allowing for magnificent views of the snow-clad peaks. The temperature during this period is usually between 6°C to 20°C. However, it's advisable to avoid the monsoon months themselves, typically between July and August, when heavy rains make trekking routes treacherous and landslides are a possibility.
