Best Time To Visit Singalila National Park (Darjeeling) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Singalila National Park

The optimal time for visiting Singalila National Park in Darjeeling is during two distinct periods: spring (March to May) and autumn (October to early December). During the spring season, the park is resplendent with blooming rhododendrons and magnolias, painting the landscape in vibrant shades of colors. The weather is pleasantly cool with temperatures ranging from 8°C to 15°C, allowing for comfortable trekking conditions and wildlife spotting. This is also the time when the air is clearer enabling spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks, including the majestic Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world.

On the other hand, autumn offers equally clear skies and dry weather, making it ideal for those keen on having the best mountain views and photography opportunities. The autumn season sees temperatures ranging from 2°C to 10°C, thus it's essential to be well equipped with warm clothing. Aside from the breathtaking views of the towering peaks, visitors during this time might also get a chance to witness the rare and elusive Red Panda that inhabits the park. Due to its high altitude, the park remains closed during the monsoon and winter season because of heavy snowfall making the trails inaccessible.
