Tazia Tower is an architectural marvel located in the Mandir Palace complex of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It stands as a symbol of the region's rich cultural heritage, showcasing stunning craftsmanship. Tazia Tower, also known as 'Badal Mahal,' exhibits a unique blend of intricate designs and engineering, reflecting a fusion of Rajput and Islamic styles of architecture. Tazias are generally part of Muharram processions by the Shiite Muslim community, and although Jaisalmer had predominantly Hindu rulers, the Tazia Tower stands as a testament to the secular approach and appreciation of different cultural traditions. The tower's balconies on each floor feature delicate carvings and are said to replicate the Tazias that are carried in Muharram processions. This five-storied structure is made of yellow sandstone which glows beautifully during sunset, thereby accentuating the finely detailed carvings and the overall elegance of the tower.
