Khaba Fort is an abandoned and solitary structure located approximately 35 km away from the golden city of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, India. It stands as a desolate reminder of the villages that once were populated by the Paliwal Brahmins about 300 years ago. According to local folklore, this community vanished overnight due to unknown reasons. Now surrounded by the remains of the homes and the temples they left behind, the fort overlooks the beautiful barren landscapes of the Khaba village, offering breathtaking views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Inside the fort, there is a small museum that provides further insights into this historical enigma. The ruins are scattered with peacocks and the area is often serene, providing a stark contrast to the bustling tourist spots of Jaisalmer. Despite its desolation, Khaba Fort continues to attract visitors with its mysterious past and the untouched beauty of its surroundings.
