Valley of Flowers National Park is a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. Known for its endemic alpine flowers and outstanding natural beauty, the park spreads over an area of 87.50 km² in the West Himalayan region. The Valley is home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear, and blue sheep. Cascading waterfalls, small streams, and the Pushpawati River flowing through the verdant valley enhance the park's beauty. Meadows of endemic alpine flowers such as the Brahmakamal, Blue Poppy, and Cobra Lily can be visited during the monsoon when the flowers are in full bloom. The rugged mountain wilderness of this park can only be accessed by foot. The trek to Valley of Flowers starts from Govindghat and goes through Ghangaria, which is the base camp for treks to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.
