Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park which was established in 1982. It is located in Chamoli in the state of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear,[1] snow leopard,[1] musk deer,[1] brown bear, red fox[1] and blue sheep. Birds found in the park include Himalayan monal pheasant and other high altitude birds.[2]

It's a must do trek. With a little bit effort, you can get the most awesome experience in lifetime
Valley of Flowers National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The valley is so beautiful and charming. This trek starts from Pulna. 10 kms trek from Pulna to Ghangaria. Then another 4kms from Ghangaria to the valley. The difficulty level of the trek is moderate. Always remember to stay hydrated. You have to be working out a little bit daily to complete the trek successfully. Because the view is breathtaking...not just the top view when you reach the valley...but also the trekking path... There are a lot of streams on the way from where you can fill your bottles with water. Not to worry, the streams are pure. And when you reach the top, make sure you visit Legge's grave too(there's a story behind it). The view from that point is also mind blowing. Remember to not pluck any flowers. Love nature and preserve itâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ PS: You can find lichens during the trek. If you find lichens(symbiotic relationship between fungus and algae/cyanobacteria) in an area, it indicates that the area is pollution free and healthy.

Valley of flowers is approximately 12000+ feet above sea level, and home to more than 600 species of flowers! As described by UNESCO: Internationally important on account of its diverse alpine flora. An exceptionally beautiful high-altitude Himalayan landscape, with outstanding biodiversity. It takes a 14 hour car drive, an overnight stay, a 4-6 hour trek, an overnight stay and a 4 hour trek to reach Valley of Flowers. Another possibility is to visit Hemkund Sahib - highest Gurudwara in the world ! Stay in Ghangaria and take rest for 1 day before Hemkund Sahib. This is an experience from August 2017
