Dada Harir Stepwell, also known as Dada Hari ni Vav, is a magnificent architectural marvel located in Asarwa area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Built in the year 1501 during the reign of Mehmud Begada, it represents the Indo-Islamic style of architecture with influences from both the Solanki dynasty's stepwell traditions and Islamic floral motifs. This five-story stepwell was designed to provide cool water and a place for relaxation during the scorching summer months. It is an intricately carved monument, featuring detailed sculptures, walls adorned with stone carvings, and platforms for relaxation. The site includes a spiraling staircase which descends into the well, connecting the multiple levels that house beautifully carved stone columns and octagonal shafts. Although not as famous as some other stepwells in India, Dada Harir Stepwell is a fine example of the utilitarian, cultural, and artistic heritage of ancient India.
