Sarkhej Roza is an elegant architectural complex located in the suburbs of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It embodies the cultural confluence of Islamic stylistic influences intermingled with traditional Hindu and Jain features, representing a significant period in the history of architecture in the Indian subcontinent. The complex includes a mosque, tombs, palaces, and a large tank, all built around a central courtyard. The uniqueness of Sarkhej Roza lies in its design and spaciousness, with buildings that feature intricate jali screens, detailed stone carvings, and sprawling arcades. It was once a prominent center of Sufi culture and spirituality and has the mausoleum of the Sufi saint Shaikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh. The Roza, with its reflective water bodies and interconnected buildings, was a retreat for the royals of the time and highlighted their patronage of the arts, culture, and religion. Today, Sarkhej Roza stands as a testament to the architectural heritage of Gujarat and attracts visitors who seek to immerse themselves in its tranquil ambience and rich history.

Horrible reminder of how Islam took over Hindu Structure
Blatant & Glaring example of how Hindu Structures were half broken & given Islamic facade. How existing Mandirs were attacked, defaced & given Islamic look. Shame !
