Best Time To Visit Haji Ali Dargah (Mumbai) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Haji Ali Dargah, Mumbai

When planning a visit to the iconic Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai, timing is an important factor to consider. Ideally, the best time to visit is during the cooler months of October to March. During this period, Mumbai experiences a more moderate climate, which is conducive for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The temperature is pleasant, ranging from 17°C to 30°C, allowing visitors to comfortably explore the dargah and its surroundings. Additionally, this timing helps avoid the heavy monsoon rains that Mumbai encounters from June to September, which can make accessing the dargah challenging as it is surrounded by the sea and connected by a narrow causeway.

Visiting the Haji Ali Dargah during the Muslim festivals of Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha can be particularly rewarding, as the shrine is bustling with devotees and exudes an extraordinary spiritual ambiance. However, if you are looking to avoid crowds, consider weekdays or non-festival periods, during the early morning or late afternoon. It's also worth noting that Fridays see a surge of visitors due to the weekly congregational prayers, which adds a vibrant atmosphere but also results in a more crowded experience. Remember to check the tide schedules before planning your visit, because the causeway leading to the dargah can get submerged during high tide, rendering the dargah inaccessible for a few hours.
