Lake Palace, also known as Jag Niwas, is an exquisite palace located in the middle of Lake Pichola, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Built between 1743 to 1746 under the direction of the Maharana Jagat Singh II, this architectural marvel was initially a royal summer palace but is now transformed into a luxury hotel. The palace showcases the Mughal-Rajput style of architecture, with its white marble walls reflecting beautifully in the tranquil waters of the lake. It spans across a four-acre island making it seem almost like it's floating. The palace's intricate craftsmanship, numerous courtyards, terraces, beautiful gardens and fountains add to its grandeur. Inside, the rooms and suites are adorned with embellishments and paintings that echo the regal history of Rajasthan. Accessible only by boat, the Lake Palace offers a serene and opulent escape from the bustling city life and a panoramic view of the surrounding Aravalli hills and the city's other palaces.
