Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal Tourism

Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal is a cultural institution dedicated to the study and preservation of folk arts, dances, and music of the Indian state of Rajasthan, specifically in the Mewar region. The complex includes a museum, library, and an auditorium. Founded by Padma Shri Devilal Samar in 1952, this repository of traditional performance arts serves as a platform for carrying forward the rich traditions of the folk arts. The museum showcases an assemblage of puppets, masks, dolls, folk dresses, ornaments, musical instruments, and paintings, each narrating a distinct story of the Indian subcontinent's cultural heritage. Regular puppet shows and cultural performances are hosted in the auditorium, attracting both locals and tourists. The Mandal also offers short-term courses in puppetry and folk dances, ensuring the continuation of these art forms. This institution is not merely a tourist attraction, but an educational resource that fosters a deeper understanding of India's rural folk culture.
