Overlooking the city of Udaipur, Sajjangarh Palace, also known as the Monsoon Palace, is a hilltop palatial residence in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Built in 1884 by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty, the palace sits atop the Bansdara peak of the Aravalli hill range at an altitude of about 944 meters above sea level. It was originally constructed to watch the monsoon clouds; hence, it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace. The architecture of the palace reflects the Rajput style with its marble pillars, towers, and intricately carved balconies. The high elevation offers panoramic views of the surrounding lakes, countryside, and the Udaipur city below. At present, Sajjangarh Palace is under the control of the Forest Department of the Government of Rajasthan and has been opened to the public as a tourist destination. It serves as a sunset point for the visitors and is also a great place to observe wildlife within the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary.

Not worth the hassle
Nothing much to see there. Not worth the hassle. The fort is closed permanently, you can only see a small museum. The drivers are very unprofessional and rude. Also No good toilets.

Give it a miss
Total waste of time. Drove up very steep narrow roads to reach the place. Expensive tickets to see nothing really. Just a birds eye view of Udaipur even that we could not see because of fog.
