Meenmutty Falls Tourism

Meenmutty Falls, situated in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India, is a magnificent three-tiered waterfall. It stands at a height of 300 meters, making it one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the region. The name 'Meenmutty' is derived from the Malayalam words 'Meen' (fish) and 'Mutt' (blocked), implying a place where fish are blocked. Access to the falls requires a moderately challenging hike through the lush evergreen forests of the Western Ghats, which takes about 2 km from the main road. The trek offers an enchanting experience with its rocky paths, and occasional glimpses of exotic wildlife. This pristine natural wonder is located near the Ooty main road and is part of the Neyyar reservoir area.
