Pookode Lake is a scenic freshwater lake nestled among the Western Ghats' wooded hills in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India. Covering an area of about 8.5 hectares with a depth reaching 6.5 meters, it is shaped like the map of India. The lake has an abundance of blue lotus and fresh water fish. Pookode Lake is a haven for nature lovers, offering activities such as boating, with pedal and rowboats, and an exclusive aquarium which showcases a variety of fish species. A pathway around the lake provides a delightful walking track for visitors. The lake's ecosystem is also home to different species of birds, butterflies, and small wild animals. Adjacent to the lake, a handicrafts and spices emporium is present, promoting the cultural artifacts of Kerala.

Nothing great, can avoid

There are bigger and cleaner lakes in Bengaluru. Avoid this over-hyped and overcrowded tourist trap. Not worth the effort unless you have time to kill and are in the vicinity.

Nice water experience I really had

Good for first time tourist . The park place zone , water craft, and aquarium on display will appeal to children. I really enjoyed it.

Good option !

It's a large water body close to Vythiri. Lot of paddle boats, also a nice walking area that surrounds the lake. Area for kids to play around and stuff to eat outside

Can visit this lake, if in Wayanad

Nice hour spent here as we were on our way back from Wayanad. Was crowded on the new year day. Was here with family. It is an okay spot to be here.

Nice place to spend time

Nothing exclusive to visit if you are short on time. However, if you just want to chill and spend some quality time, then take a walk along the lake . About 1 hour with lots of butterflies and natur..
