Best Time To Visit Mehrangarh Fort (Jodhpur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur

Located in the heart of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, the majestic Mehrangarh Fort stands as a testament to the region's rich history and architectural splendor. The best time to visit Mehrangarh Fort is during the cooler months, which span from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant with cooler temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C (50°F to 77°F), making it ideal for exploring the extensive fortifications, intricate carvings, and museums without the discomfort of intense heat that characterizes the desert climate. Additionally, the clear blue skies provide a magnificent backdrop for photography enthusiasts.

Visitors should consider planning their visit around the popular festivals such as the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF), usually held in October, or the Marwar Festival which takes place in late September or October, depending on the lunar calendar. These events showcase the local culture, music, and dance, adding an extra layer of excitement to the fort experience. However, it is important to book accommodations well in advance during these peak seasons as hotels tend to fill up quickly. Avoid visiting during the summer months of April to June, as temperatures can soar up to 40°C (104°F), making outdoor activities quite challenging.
